定義と使用法

altプロパティは、画像のalt属性の値を設定または返します。

必要なalt属性は、何らかの理由で画像を表示できない場合（接続が遅い、src属性のエラー、またはユーザーがスクリーンリーダーを使用している場合）に、画像の代替テキストを指定します。

注： Internet Explorerは、<img>要素にマウスを合わせると、ツールチップとしてalt属性の値を表示します。HTML仕様によると、これは正しい動作ではありません。他のすべてのブラウザは仕様に準拠しており、画像を表示できない場合にのみ代替テキストを表示します。

ヒント：画像のツールチップを作成する場合は、グローバルタイトル属性を使用します。
